Vacancy - Hope in the Community Poole

Hope in the Community, Poole: Job advert

Loneliness and isolation are real issues for older people.

If you have experience working with volunteers, and have the skills and compassion to help older people in Poole get reconnected into their community, then we would love to hear from you…

Many of the churches in Poole are starting to work more closely together to respond to the ever-increasing problem of loneliness in older people - the project is called Hope in the Community and our goal is to combine the resources, compassion and localness of the churches to “re-connect” 1000 older people to Hope and help them live life to the full.

So, we now need an experienced part-time Coordinator to help make this happen on the ground by:-

  • Meeting and assessing contacts referred to the network, to understand their needs and what they would like to do.
  • Link referred contacts to local churches ensuring that the relationship is secure before moving on.
  • Develop strong links with local referrers, ensuring they understand activity.
  • Develop great relationships with churches and local leaders (esp. cluster champions), leading services or prayer times when required.

This post is for 16 hours/week: salary is £10 per hour.
